The building owner Md. Masum has said that the allegations of building construction by occupying Khas land in Mouza No. 88 of Ward No. 6 of Benapole Municipality are not true, including the news release. He also said that during the construction of the building, his neighbors asked for a way for them to move, so he is building the building by leaving two feet of his purchased recorded property for the road. According to the information provided by Masum, he is occupying the 604 points of land of former Dag No. 281 and 74/75 of Bhaberber Mouza No. 88, whose Khatian No. 1942 and new Dag 621, from the deceased Lal Mia Waresh Nurul Islam of Bhaberber village with the price of deed No. 9750. Although he purchased the land in the past 2022, he is now constructing a building on his purchased land due to necessity. When asked about the complaint filed by the local residents with the Deputy Commissioner, he said, “The accused former 282 S A land is khas land which is adjacent to my land. No part of my under-construction building is on khas land, they are spreading misinformation out of jealousy.” Talking to the local residents on this issue, the truth of the information given by Masum was found. Earlier, on behalf of the residents of ward no. 6, the residents of Bhaberberda ward no. 6 had requested the Jessore Deputy Commissioner to stop the construction of a multi-storey building on 282 S S government khas property. In the application, they have demanded the restoration of 41 percent of the government khas land of Bhaberberda mouza and the construction of a public library or a modern public toilet for the public on the land. Confirming the authenticity of the application, the Naib of Benapole Union Land Office said that necessary measures will be taken after inspecting the land on the spot on the instructions of the Assistant Land Commissioner of Sharsha Upazila.
